The Money Smokers

Growing up across the expanse of Sydney, the Money Smokers are a group of like-minded musicians intent on delivering a colourful mix of 60s rock and roll, 70s funk and classic country sounds to your auditory cortex. Having started writing songs and playing shows on the Sydney music scene in the last 12 months, the Money Smokers live shows have developed in to an energetic garage blend of the aforementioned genres where good times are an essential part of the formula and inhibitions are left at the door. Frontman Tristan James will defy you to keep your hips from shaking as he flaunts moves previously unseen by the youth of today, but all too familiar with musical generations past.

With their debut extended player due for release in September 2010, the Money Smokers have produced wavelengths of sound to pleasure the dormant audiophile that sleeps inside you. Produced independently and kept entirely insular, the Money Smokers debut EP is a mix between the early garage sound of The Kinks, the all singin’, all playin’ harmonies of The Band, and a touch soul taken from The Black Crowes.
