Roller Man Arrives In Australia For Newton’s Nation!November 2010One of the main highlights of Newton’s is also a first for Australia! We’ve brought over French eccentric ‘Roller Man’, or Jean-Yves Blondeau as he’s also known. Roller Man is a French designer who is best known for creating the 31-wheel roller suit (Buggy Rollin). He has featured on television shows in several countries and two of his suits can be seen in the 2008 Jim Carrey film Yes Man. He claims his fastest speed yet is 116 km/h, his highest jump is 5m 70. Filming all of Roller Man’s Australian exploits is Yvon Labarthe, the 2009 Luge World Cup Champion. Through his cinematography, and his tireless ability to compete in all disciplines (streetluge, downhill, buttboard), he manages to capture a side of gravity racing that very few have the opportunity to do. Roller Man plans on breaking his personal best live at Newton’s Nation, taking on the G-Force Zone with three demos a day over the festival weekend. We’ll also be taking Roller Man to Mount Panorama, Bathurst before the event on Tuesday 16th Nov, catch him there from 5pm. He’ll then be on a ‘roller tour’ around Sydney on Wednesday 17th November, where he’ll be at Martin Place in the morning, Bondi midday, then rolling over Pyrmont Bridge that afternoon! |
