LUGE

FORMAT: WORLD CUP COMPETITION

The ultimate gravity sport, where the stakes are high, and the speeds are even higher! 115km/hr, an inch & a half from the Conrod Straight asphalt – I hope you’ve got a change of jocks.
A streetluge is normally constructed using an alloy frame customised in order to maximise cornering speed and aerodynamics. Steering is achieved by shifting bodyweight from side to side with the aid of specialist streetluge trucks and braking is compliments of jamming the soles of one’s feet onto the tarmac.
Luge riders are highly skilled, often racing shoulder to shoulder, always reading the road for danger, and using the force of gravity to go ever faster.

Its fast, unpredictable & intense – a perfect recipe for raising the adrenaline stakes!

Newton’s Nation will attract the best competitors from around the world with $20,000 prize money up for grabs across the DH disciplines. Newton's works in partnership with ASRA who co-organises this event
