DH SHORT TRACK DH

FORMAT: OPEN COMPETITION

With near 200 competitors, with both Sam Hill and Jill Kinter (2010 World champions) coming to the last newtons we knew we must be onto something good.  In 2012 we've moved the track (just waiting final council signoff) to go down the front of the mountain past the iconic Mount Panorama sign.  This is going to be a serious speed dash with technical aspects, following a creek line from the top to bottom before exiting onto the race track for the lazy bus ride back up to do it all over again, and again...

We believe that to warrant this sort of risk, the rewards need to be good. Our prize purse will again be in the $1000's and hope to keep it towards being the biggest in Australia.

Many of Australia’s elite riders are expected to compete alongside some of the next generation of up & coming talent.

Competitor registration will open in Febraury once all is signed off.  (updated 18 Jan 2012)

TRIALS

A new competition for Newton's.  MTB Trials will be running for the first time and will be set up right smack bang in the middle of the festival.  Exact track and format being developed and more info to come on this. (updated 18 Jan 2012)

SLALOM

A Slalom track is being proposed, the degree of difficulty for this is being debated and more info posted in this on finalisation. (updated 18 Jan 2012)
