DOWNHILL SKATEBOARDING

FORMAT: WORLD CUP COMPETITION

Fancy a 90km/hr+ spin down Conrod with nothing but a skateboard under your feet?

Without doubt Downhill Skateboarding is the most spectacular sport to watch with no brakes other than feet or slides. Riders crouch low, heads pushed forward and arms tucked back reducing wind resistance with riders ever hungry for more speed.

Turning at high speed can sometimes be a problem, particularly at Forrests Elbow, where Downhill skateboarders approach and clear the corner at higher speeds than V8 Supercars. Often there is carnage on the corners, but with big money, world series points & bragging rights on the line, who could blame them for pushing it to the limit.

Being the IGSA World Cup event in Australia and the one World Cup on the circuit that riders don’t want to miss, Newton’s Nation will attract the best competitors from around the world with $20,000 prize money up for grabs across the DH disciplines. Newton's works in partnership with ASRA who co-organises this event
